Scouting Locations and Portfolio

Divergence
While I was scouting locations for a shoot, these train tracks caught my eye. The divergence between the tracks had me examining different angles and ideas. I added it to my portfolio, which is to say that I made a portfolio.

A portfolio is a frustrating thing to put together when photography is your side job. Going back a few months and realizing how much better you could have done with some of your shots is a mixed bag, both of missed opportunity and of recognizing your growth through experience.

I've got to say, I really like the way Google+ handles a photo gallery. The navigation and viewing is simple, fast, and elegant. Take a look...

Moved, now to take photos!

Moving is a pain, but I'm glad it's all done, and we're mostly settled into our new place. I've got a concept for a paint floating in my head, and the lines are sketched out onto the canvas already, just have to work out the color scheme. I also have some photo jobs this month so I needed to get the camera out and sharpen my skills. This is what came out of my experiments tonight:

Half Moon Bay

Camping at Half Moon Bay is a relaxing affair, and it inspired me to take some photos. Watching a child as she awaited the waves, and then turning to run away from the water with a huge smile on her face was great photographic fodder.
